April is our busiest month so far. We are happy to see a great variety of people are interested in presenting at the North End Studio. I am trying to update regularly and get away from large emails (yes, I got the message!). So, check out the calendar on the left and the posters below and let me know what else you need to know.

Is Tango your thing? Have you been meaning to try it? You don't need a partner. Drop ins are welcome.
Not Tango? Well maybe breakdancing. I was amazed at what I saw Nate do in the studio. Check it out! He will accept drop ins for the first 3 weeks only.
Or perhaps a concert? Pete has an international reputation as a performer with great voice and guitar style. We are fortunate to have him here in Burlington in an intimate setting.
Or, these three( pronounced trey arkush - trans. three bows). if you have never had the opportunity to hear this style of Central European music you will fall in love. Local musicians try this.
How about a movie or two? Karen and Sas have been to some very interesting places and want to share their experiences with you. There's free popcorn as well!
There will also be some interesting workshops during the month:
Have you been meaning to tune up your voice for speaking or singing? Try this:
Vocal Techniques Workshop with Karen Sutherland
Date/Time: Saturday, April 19, 2008; 1-4 pm cost $40
On Saturday, April 19, Karen Sutherland will offer
an introductory workshop on McClosky Vocal Technique, a
system designed both to enhance healthy voices and benefit troubled voices. Participants will learn to
approach basic problems in voice quality and to analyze the issues in the use
of the voice. By becoming aware of the physical process, vocalists will learn
how to use these techniques in all speaking and singing situations.
Karen Sutherland, BM, CMVT is well known for her beautiful, powerful singing of
folk and classical music. A resident of Monkton, VT., she teaches privately and at
music camps across the country and abroad.
David Blair McClosky (1902-88), was an opera singer turned speech
professor who served as John F. Kennedy's voice coach during the 1960 presidential
campaign. Other beneficiaries of the voice coach included President Lyndon B. Johnson,
Gov. Michael S. Dukakis, sportscaster Curt Gowdy, actors Faye Dunaway, Al Pacino, Jill
Clayburgh, and folksinger Joan Baez.
